The love of a mother beyond all limits
Ecce Mater is a short film focused on the maternal figure and on the greatness of the love of a mother who in any condition manages to stay next to her child. Emma and her mother, after a violent earthquake, find themselves buried under the rubble, alone, in an infinite darkness, in an infinite time. Infinite like the fear that animates the child and like the love of the mother who supports her. Ecce Mater. Here is the mother. Suffering like the Ecce Homo, the Christ, before Pontius Pilate, but powerful in the same way, because she is animated by the same powerful love. Here is the mother, who suffers in seeing her suffering creature, the mother who is there, who never gives up and who finally allows her daughter to be re-born, coming out into the light after days of darkness.

First Move is a short documentary about a New York City elementary school girls’ chess team
"First Move" is a short film about four girls-- Milana, Subi, Anjyu and Jairin-- who are teammates on an elementary school chess team. The film follows them from their classroom in Washington Heights, Manhattan, to the country's largest scholastic chess tournament in Nashville, Tennessee. Through the eyes of these girls we witness the quirky, lovable, and sometimes over-the-top subculture of children's chess. "First Move" is a tender portrait of four girls participating in high-level competition at a young age, but also a snapshot of childhood. Juxtaposing moments of intense focus within gameplay with moments of irreverent 9-year-old behavior, we're along for the ride, as these girls navigate the pressures of performance and being themselves.
